HA5CSB Direction

I searched the forums, and didn't find what I was looking for, maybe you guys can help.

I have a HA5CSB on a VF-2SS. It rotates in the opposite direction as all the HRT210's I have on my other haas mills. I know I can reverse the A axis in the controller, but I would like to rewire the HA5CSB to rotate positive in the opposite direction it currently does. I have not found a service manual or wiring diagram anywhere ( just the operators manual), and wonder if anyone here has tackled the project, or has any input on the subject. Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to rewire it. I can give you the parameters to change the direction.

I do not think that it is possible without some serious wire swapping. I would just spend the 20 seconds it takes to swap the parameters.

By parameters, do you mean the mirror A axis option in settings, or is there another parameter to change the direction of positive rotation, I'd certainly be happy to know if there is.

Yes

If you go to parameter 43 you will change the first two par.

REV ENCODER and REV POWER they will be a one or zero. What ever they are make them the opposite

Awesome, I'll run out to the shop and try it now, thanks!

EDIT: In my VF-2SS, the parameter 43 is "cutter comp type". I did not see any options for REV ENCODER, or REV POWER. Are you talking about a standalone controller, or am I missing something obvious?

Page through settings until you see "A" Axis settings, will be a couple of pages of them. There will be pages for 5 axises I believe, X Y Z A and B.

I only have two parameters for the A axis, axis type ( which has several choices, both hrt210 and ha2csb are there) and an option for 4th axis diameter.

Thanks very much, I was indeed looking at the settings page, and not the parameters page. Everything is rotating just like I want now. Again, thanks for all your help, and thanks to Bryan33 for going above and beyond to lend a hand.

For those unfamiliar with these setting, I'll post the pages from my manual. Be advised that they will vary with your software edition and do get changed by Haas sometimes. The Haas rotary division will happily email you the latest for your software version if you contact them

Notice that the top of these pages denotes if the unit goes on a brush or brushless mill, as the settings are diffferent.
