Need Help!- vf-0 alarm 149 spindle turning

I have a 1994 haas vf-0 that is showing alarm 149 spindle turning. The unit also has a magnetek gpd 503 drive that has no display at all or lights on. please help guide me to troubleshoot this !

If the drive's voltage is good going in, most likely it needs to be replaced.

Your local HFO should be able to help you out but most likely they will upgrade the GPD503 as it is no longer supported.

Alternatively, you can do a search for companies that repair these drives. ( I have no personal experience with any to recommend)

If memory serves correctly and you are comfortable removing the cover of the drive, there should be some fuses that you can check to make sure they are good.

Regardless of who works on this machine, grab a chair and personally make detailed notes of which wires are connected where so you have a good reference of the original connections, trust me!

If there is no display on you drive it will need replacing if you have 230 volts going into it. If your machine is a brush machine it will need a new drive, if it's brushless, it will need the vector drive upgrade.
