I just found out about a local 2004 VF1D with a 15K Spindle 20 HP Vector motor, Cat 40, Programable coolant, remote jog handle, 20 tool umbrella TC, and I don't know what else. It is in pretty good shape visual wise. I would like to make an offer on it but don't want to go over or under on what I offer. I have spent the morning looking for machines that closely match this one and am not finding many. Does anyone have any idea what they are worth? It would be nice to buy a local machine and not have to hassle long range shipping. It might have a high voltage transformer in it. Appreciate any help. Lowell |

| It is a total crap shoot without running test cuts. We have 2 VF-4s that were bought at the same time. One was run on cast iron with heavy, deep cuts, one was used with tool steels with low DOC, high speed cuts. They look the same, but the cast iron one is considerably worse for wear. It chatters bad cutting in Y+ and can't hold +/-.0005 like the other one.

| I do know some of the history and work this machine and company has done. I have never run it but it sat unused for most of three years. that I know about. Your point is well taken and we will test it before I buy if I do. That is why I was interested in it because it is local and I do know the company and can touch it where if I buy off the net I am subject to just what you say. Thanks Lowell |

| Last summer i had my machine appraised at 30k-35k. it's a VF2-YT 7500rpm with standard package and 24+1 side and is a 2006. hrs were at 2000 feed hrs/3000 power on hrs and is in good shape. i'm sure its gone down since then. You need to find out some specs and history on the machine before you talk $. test cut would be good if you were able. A 2004 VF1 has to be a little less, but it depends on how much action it has seen too. hope that helps |

| last summer i had my vf2yt appraised at 30-35k. its a 2006 and had 2k feed hrs and 3k power on hrs. it is in good shape. it has a 24+1 side moount tool changer with standard 7500rpm 20hp gear drive spindle and standard options. a test cut would be good if posible. A vf1 would be close to this or less, depending on how much action it has seen and the options. hope this helps. |
