Im am on a tm1p fully enclosed. I am trying to open the tool carousel door. On a fadal it is possible and makes tool loading easier. Is it possible on this haas? Not saying a fadal is better! |

| Good god, man, keep your hands away from that flippin' door! No, you can't open it without taking out screws. Don't try. Why on earth would you want to load tools through the door? Put it in the spindle and turret-fwd like everybody else.

| because it is faster to load a bunch of tools directly into the tool changer. No waiting for the spindle to to go up and down and the TC to move back and forth. I was surprised on how well I liked doing it that way when I started using Fadals recently. There is no way to do the same thing with a Haas Lowell |

| Most other machines allow this. Personally, I would not ever use it on a double arm toolchanger, the pockets get all mixed up anyways. Plus I'd need to call them up into the spindle to touch them off anyways, even with an umbrella changer. It would be nice to be able to get in the umbrella changer and clean it out though. The sensors get any coolant splashed on them and screw up easily.

| But it is useless for trying to load tools into the chamber instead of into the spindle. If you do this procedure and slide a tool into the fingers on the carousel this tool will crash into the spindle nose when you do a toolchange.

| This is a dumb thread. By the time you press 20 buttons to open the door to the changer you can load each tool by advancing the toolchanger. Your not saving any time and increasing the possibility of crashing into the toolchanger. Tim |

Not after you push Estop. And if you release the Estop and press Reset you will gate a Shuttle In alarm.

![]() Yes, the most useful purpose is to clean the carousel. The Fadal doesn't have the retractable clips like the Haas to keep shavings out of there. The clips don't help with plastic though, it will find it's way in there no matter what you do. I ran plastic all weekend long in the VF3 and it's everywhere. And it IS a lot easier and faster to load tools with the carousel open. Just saying |
