Transmission question...

gonna be another dumb one!

I'm going through the maintenance part of my manual and there’s a section for checking the transmission. I'm assuming there is a transmission ONLY if it has a 2speed gear box on the machine, is that correct?

I suppose to be pedantic one could say that your machine has a transmission, the belt between the motor and the spindle. It doesn't have a gearbox.

Yea, the machine was not exactly what I wanted originally, but it was local, the price was right, it was only 2.5 years old but hours on it were low.

Those numbers do not mean much because you can zero them.

The only way for the numbers to be zeroed would be if there was a software upgrade. The upgrade process wipes out this information.

If you have the original manual, there should be a printout of the parameters the machine was shipped with. This printout also lists the software version at the top of that list. If the software version does not match what is in the machine then it has been upgraded. If you don't have the book, you will have to call Haas factory to find out what it was shipped with.

Couldn't you also just disconnet the backup battery, then reconnect it, reload parameters, settings. Wouldn't that reset the clocks?

best way to verify your machine have gearbox or not, bring your z-axis all the way down on top off spindle fan, if you see a oil fill, that the machine have a gearbox. thanks
