There are a few HRT-210s in stock at the Haas factory.

You can use a brushless rotary with a control box, but it will only allow indexing.

If you need to interpolate with the 4th axis, make sure you get a rotary that is compatible with your machine. There are 14 pin and 17 pin configurations.

If you find a 14 pin rotary and your machine is 17 pin, or visa-versa, there are adapter cables available from Haas. In fact I will have a cable that adapts a 14 pin rotary to a 17 pin machine up for sale shortly.

need replacement brush rotary

If you cannot use the newest rotary tables, what you have can be repaired. Both Haas and some dealers will repair almost anything going back 20+ years.

If your company is willing to spend a little money, you could upgrade your 4th axis board to the newer brushless drive and then get a new brushless rotary...

Sell the old board on ebay and recup some of the cost.

Just a thought....

What exactly is required to do this? I have a brushless rotary I would like to use on a brushed machine. I was told this couldn't be done.

We were told the same too, for our 1997 VF. Perhaps it varies depending on the age or some combination of parts being used.

Well I should be more specific...we are actually in the process of performing the conversion but it requires a new vector drive and a load of other hardware (around 4k worth of parts, plus again for the installation). We've been gradually acquiring the parts for a while....so it can be done but it might be more expensive than just the rotary drive.

Hmmm, I guess I made some assumptions there. I was asked if I wanted my new machines to be compatible with my older rotary's and indexers. So I was under the impression we had choices there. I went with the newer brushless drive and new indexer because it was gonna be a dedicated machine to a particular job and not shared with the other machines. Now I'm not sure... I'll ask my tech.
