warmup program: dwell time is incorrect if set > 60 seconds

Hey all,

My warmup program (VF1) specifies a dwell of 300. seconds per RPM setting, but it only runs for about 45 seconds. I played around with a bunch of values. Any value less than 60. produces the correct dwell time. However, anything above 60. produces an apparently random dwell time...but always less than 60 seconds. Thoughts?

Oh and my program is identical to my neighbor's VF3, which works fine.

Are you always specifying P with a decimal point? With a decimal point, P is seconds, without a decimal point, it's milliseconds.

I think you have to add a G04 for the dwell command followed by the P command for the length time.

On the default warm up program it's something like

S500 M3;
G04 P1000.;

. . . once I forgot the decimal point and had a pretty good scare when the rpm suddenly ramped up when I wasn't expecting it. . .

Not familiar with Haas. I do know on some machines, if you're in IPR, then dwell is in revolutions, not seconds or milliseconds, and if you're in IPM, then it's seconds

Yes... I have to Input a G04 and a decimal point after the dwell amount to get my Hass to do right.

Sorry I misstyped I have: S500 M03 G04 P300. I don't think it's ipr because if I input P60. It runs for 60 seconds but if I input P70. It runs for about 12 seconds.

Earlier Haas software versions had a problem when dwelling over 60 seconds. To overcome this, order a new machine..... Or, you can program a 300 second dwell using multiple lines; like this:

G04 P60.
G04 P60.
G04 P60.
G04 P60.
G04 P60.

Okay, just tried a test and here are the results:

P30. = 30 sec
P60. = 60 sec
P100. = 34 sec
P300. = 37 sec

Mysterious for sure.

What software version do you have, if you have 3 or above, it can be fixed with a software update.

(Fixed in SW version 3.16)

You can upgrade by contacting your HFO, they will replace the processor.
