Setting time of day on VF1

I called the HFO on this one, but their instructions don't seem to work or I'm missing something. To clarify, the machine's time of day is set about 8 hours ahead. OK, I guess it has little impact on anything, other than the alarm history timestamps.

Here's what I'm doing. Hit E-stop, turn parameter lock off, hit "alarm" button, type in "debug", (I get the nnnn... string displayed) then while still on the alarm page type ST 05;51;00 (current time in HH;MM;SS format), then hit write. I get no error messages, but the time stays the same. I've tried variations with spaces or colons instead of semicolons, no joy. If it matters, the machine is a 2003 VF1 with mocon 12.xx.

Maybe the machine just likes GMT?

Thanks

Geof will become famous soon enough

Copied from the Haas Manual.

The control contains a clock and date function. To view the time and date, press the CURNT COMDS button,
then Page Up/Down until the date and time appears.
To make adjustments, press Emergency Stop, type the current date (in MM-DD-YYYY format) or current time
(in HH:MM format), and press WRITE/ENTER. Reset Emergency Stop when fi nished.

I looked in a different manual:

The control contains a clock and date function. To view the time and date, press the Help button until the date
and time appears.
Setting the date and time, use the Up and Down arrow keys to select the date or time. Use the Right and Left
arrow keys or the jog handle to make adjustments.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I looked in my manual, but could not find anything like that, and neither of those techniques work on my machine, unfortunately. I've pressed the help button and have gone through every screen, no time, just help pages. Same with current commands, just shows macro variables, tool life and run hours (not time of day).

You are close. Once you are in "debug" mode, press the position page key then page up/down until it reads "pos raw data" at the top. Type in the current time as follows(example of 2:15:00 PM): ST 14 15 00 then press enter. Use spaces between and not the semicolon. After you press enter you will not see anything change on the screen, but to verify, reset any alarms then press e-stop again and check the time in history; it should read the time you set.

If you need to set the date, use: SD 11 22 10 then enter. (11/22/10 example)

Remember to exit debug again.

Good luck.

Forgot to add that this works for the older software where the time is not displayed by pressing the help key as Geof was talking about. If you see the time by using the help key you should be able to set the time and date from that screen.

Yup, that did it. Guess I must have that older software. It seems Haas didn't really want cusomers changing the system time, since this procedure is not in the manual and is, well, a little scary...
