Just thought I would give you guys a heads up, if your have programs over 5 megs becareful with "Find and replace" I had to change the work fixture offset in a program that consisted of 4 tools, the program size was close to 6megs. like Always I use "find and replace" then "Foward" and "ALL" rand the program luckly had it on optional stop. hit start button on the next tool and burried the tool in the part. luckly the "g55" offset was only .200 off in the "Z" from the "g58" that I changed it to. so just for the heck of it I tried to change them again in the file back to G55 it work fine. I am thinking thats odd, so this morning I had to make some changes in the cad file and reloaded it on the machine, went to edit did the " Find and replace" and it changed all of them but the last tool again. hit reset and changed them all back to G55 then tried again everything worked fine. I think what happens on files this big is that the whole file is not in the buffer ?, until you go down the whole program ( by hitting the "end key" or scrolling through it) and it miss's a few things.? Any Haas Techs that can put some input on this? I have 16 megs of ram on a 2009 vf2ss. Is it due to just loading a big file in memory then starting to edit ? or? is there only so many lines find and replace will search before stops? 4+ meg and under 5 meg files I have NO problems with. I dont remember having any problems with a 10 meg file however that one was 2 tools and the last tool was like 7 of those megs so it didnt have to search far. Not *****ing at all just wanna know if its something People should be aware of on large files. I use find and replace Daily. Delw |

| Thanks for the heads up. I run mostly 1-3 meg files, but occasionally up to 10+ megs. I will check the last tool now for sure as I run it unattended most of the time. I also use "find and replace" just about daily. Never had a problem, but like your example I am usually using only 1 or 2 tools.
