Tool changer for TM-1 , made yourself a toolchanger

Hi all , just wanted to share with you and attached a tool changer project , may be handy to build an tool changer if someone doesn`t have one. I`ve build one from that project and it runs for more than a year with no problems ( [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyOeBSMyiAw"]YouTube - self made tool changer[/nomedia] )

    Few details and terms :
1/ this project isn`t perfect , works , don`t expect from me anything.
2/ anybody do with his machine on his own risk .
3/ the geneva is a little jerky , a better project I`ve attached on a second file.
4/ I do not have the possibility to convert those files to any other format.
    5/ I don`t sell this , I don`t need anything in charge

If you accept those terms feel free to download it and use it as you like.

    Peter

what code are you using to control it?
have you written a subprogram for the change routine?
how is it interfaced to the machine?

the motors are plugged into I/O Board , so the machine think that he has an original tool changer.

    Very, very nice.

WOW! That's an amazing job. There has been a toolchanger listed on eBay for awhile now but, he said "Local pickup only." It looks like you don't need it anymore.

Thanks a lot , I hope that the HAAS guys don`t mind ;-) maybe someone will do a opensource changer ;-)

I was attempting to build a side mount tool changer , but the complexity level of these two tool changer is like from here ( europe ) to usa. and without a 5 axis machine there are no chance to build a globoidal drive cam , I still have no idea how to draw this.

I with that my VF2 has a SMTC but she doesn`t.

I am planning to design a mill from scratch hope you ATC design will fit into my project, will keep you updated once i start up. I have a wish list from you to know what grade of materials you have used for the project a BOM ( if you could spare some time.)
