serial # engraving question

Got a job that requires me to engrave serial #s on the parts. I figured out how to do it with the vqc but the parts im machining require me to engrave the #s .02 deep so engraving can be ink filled. Is there a way to put depth cuts into sub routine so im not going to full depth in one shot.

I don`t see an option in G47 , but you can try making many G47 with different Z depth , and to don`t loose the serial count making macro #599=#599-1
