A chip ended up on the proximity sensor for the x axis on my mini mill causing the table to home in the wrong direction during the power-up process. This caused the x axis to overtravel into the hard stop and alarm the machine with a servo overload message. I cleaned the switch, changed the setting allowing me to jog off of the hard stop and re-homed the machine. All appears well now, but I was just wondering what damage if any I should check for after running up against the hard stop in this manner? Thanks |

| If it ran into the hard stop at a slow feed rate and there are no unusual noises don't worry. I have several machines that did this due to chips on the sensors and they suffered no harm.
