Haas does make an auxilary coolant filter you can put in line that should do the trick. It is a large tower type filter that has a washable/replaceable micron filter bag, not sure how many microns it filters to though.
Hi Guys,
Need your help on a coolant filter canister and cartridge for the VMC .
Originally when we got the chip fines packed in the head, and had cleaned all out we put a Lowes whole house filter assembly in line.
That did help things to keep the chips from packing up in system.
Now though we have the problem where we must replace filter and we have to put a new O-ring because of swelling. Thats not the real problem.
The Acrylic clear Housing has been cracking on threads because of the coolant attack to this material. We had replaced this a couple times and it started to cost some cash to continue this route.
Can someone shed some light as to where we can get a Metal Housing and a 100 micron filter (prefer washable) for the inside?
Appreciate any input on this as right now the water flow is greatly reduced and is time to change filter and don't know whether housing will make another round again.

How large is filter and $$?
Nobody is using an inline Filter of any type on their machine?
Sure. Graingers has plenty of different styles. We just put a 300 PSI one on our Mazak with 10 micron bags. Was about 400 bucks total. You can also buy a filter set from Cooljet, but expect to spend way more.
Check out this part #44075K21 on McMaster-Carr: McMaster-Carr We installed on of these on our VM-3 and it has solved our clogging programmable coolant nozzle problems. It didn't hurt coolant performance as it's rated about 3 times higher then what the pump can put out. For $70, it was a fairly cheap fix!
