What do you mean with the operating system? the Mill Software or the Datas(Parameters,Programs etc.)
You need your software revision, because it's different to make a backup between the older and the new revision.
Push the Parameter/diag. Button and the arrow down. Now you can read the software rev. par example M 15.06B
What you can use? Floppy/USB/RS-232....?

basically to copy off the mill operating system. i have access to both usb equipt and floppy machines. i had a milltronics that i was able to copy off the actual operating system and it saved me big $$ when the card went bad... thanks!
You can't make a copy from the Mill Software on a Haas Machine. Only you can make a Backup from the Parameters,Settings,Programms,Macros.....
If your Main Board is bad, the software must installed by a service guy. it's not so easy as by a Siemens.
