What is this buzzing thing on the back of my Mini Mill?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this black box with the two wires coming out of it is? It is just to the right of the pressure gauge. Every so often is starts buzzing, and then shuts off. It seems to be sending an air/oil mix up to the spindle.

Also, what is the big thing made by parker in the second picture? Is that a dryer or a filter or a coalescer?

I'm new to this stuff.

Look to me like the system to remove water from air line.

Compressor made a lot a water and this is where it is remove

The big thing made by Parker is the air pressure regulator which reduces the incoming supply to 85psi. You should never have to clean it if you have dryers and filters on your air supply. If you do not have dryers and filters you should install them before you start getting solenoid valve problems.

Does it mean anything if the piece with the dial in the first picture starts leaking out the bottom? I put my finger under it and it is dry air, there isn't any condensation in it.

I have a dryer at the compressor, but I can still see moisture in the line after it. I'm going to replace it. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good dryer?
