Hi everyone first time poster. I have referred to this site in the past and found it very helpful. My company just took delivery of a brand new vm3 and we are having some issues with surface finish. I saw a thread awhile back and i believe they referred to it as "coining". Anyone else out there having this issue? Haas tech came down and changed surface finish parameter from rough to finish. it helped a little bit but its still not right in my opinion. they are sending another tech down and the apps guy to do a ball bar test so i dont want to say anything bad about haas yet they appear to be trying so hopefully no one takes this as a negative post. I put an indicator on the table and pushed on the table. It moved about a .0005" this to me does not seem good at all. thanks for any input will post some pics when i get a chance mike p.s. whats up with the new chip and coolant return on these new machines. if you have seen the 2010 machines you will know what im talking about. |

Haas was out yesterday to figure out what was going on. After alot of troubleshooting they ended up getting it all fixed up. The tech ended up adjusting parameters and having me take test cuts until we got it right. Machine is what we expected now thanks haas. mike |
