American Rotary

Can anyone vouch for American Rotary?

I've pretty much decided on this unit for my VF-2 but wanted to check on their reputation on quality and service before I made the purchase.

Has anyone used the digital control unit?

I have one of their 50hp rotary phase converters (not digital...I don't think). It's been running a VF-2ss for over 3 years with absolutely no issues EXCEPT: When I first got everything hooked up, the phase converter kept blowing capacitors. After speaking to their engineering department, they decided to build me a custom panel with several more capacitors and some different electronics...

For Free. No shipping, no haggling, just free. They even sent a call tag for the old unit. I'm a customer for life.

I have other brands but this looks very good to me. Not bad for price.

I have been running their 40 hp rotary (non-digital) for over a year.
No problems running a VF-1 or SL10 or Whacheon 18x40 or Tree mill.
Wiring is to code or better, has worked like a champ.
regards,
Jim

I have a 40HP American Rotary running a Haas VF-0E with no problems for 3 years. Great unit. Only complaint is it does produce a little heat and warms up the shop a bit too much during the summer. I also have the Phase Perfect PT-355 running both my Super Minimill2 and my SL-20 with bar feed. It works great as well. I like the Phase Perfect because I have it mounted on the wall and floor space is a premium in my shop but the price was just over twice the price the American rotary. Both work great and I recommend both. Although, if I had to buy another one, I'm not sure which I would buy since they both work great. I guess it would come down to my budget. Either way, you made a great choice.

I was going to get the PT355 but the diffrence in price won out. What I saved going with the rotary paid for my "first order" of tooling.
