If your machine does not have a gearbox there will be plenty of room for the process but if it does, then you will need to move the spindle motor assy out of the way or lower the spindle itself.
To remove drawbar:
1. Remove all of the head covers
2. Place a tool in the spindle and unbolt the tool release piston assy (TRP).
3. Remove the snap ring holding back the drawbar located at the top of the spindle housing - nothing will spring out.
4. Put the TRP back on and remove the tool from spindle
5. Take TRP off one more time and the drawbar is now free to be removed.
6. Push up from where pull stud goes with brass or alum rod. Be sure it clears the retention balls for the pull stud. Drawbar may or may not be tight inside spindle.
7. There are 4 retention balls that you have to watch for. They may drop out at the bottom of spindle or at the top.
8. Inspect drawbar for damaged washers
9. When reinstalling the drawbar use liberal amount of grease on the springs and also to keep the retention balls in place
Hope this helps. |
