    Alarm 165

Hey, hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

I installed a new X-axis motor and cable in my VF-0 over the weekend. I remember that there is an adjustment that I had to calculate to set a parameter for the X axis to get rid of an alarm 165. I can't find my notes.

Thanks in advance if you can help me.

    Grid offset? Parameter 125.

I don't know about any calculation but I have played around with the Grid Offset until a 165 alarm goes away.

There are calculations to figure it out but I have never used it.

I usually just start changing the number starting with 1500 or -1500 and jump 1000 increments plus or minus until it goes away. Then smaller incriments to fine tune it. A good rule of thumb is for the distance to go register on the position screen shows about .1200" when the axis is done homing itself.

FYI - this may be needed if you ever replace a home limit switch also.

Just be certain to reset your work offsets before running again.

    Good luck.

This reminded me; write the number in Position display for each axis after homing on a piece of paper and tuck it in the pocket inside the cabinet door. Now you have a number to aim for if you ever need to replace a servo, etc.
