If you mean: Does HAAS have a Lien on the machine then you can call HAAS and give them the machine serial number and they will tell you if there is a lien on the machine by HAAS. They can also give you information about any service that was done on the machine, so you can tell if you are getting ready to purchase a problem child. That doesn't mean that the person who purchased the machine didn't get a loan from another finance company and own money to them. Some times Haas will have a record if the machine was financed through a 3rd party finance company. You can always ask. I was looking at a used HAAS Lathe and called them. They were very helpful. The 144 alarm is the Time-out alarm warning that time allocated for use prior to payment is exceeded. You want to know if this alarm has been permanently disabled but I don't think there is any way to detect that in the controller. I also know that 'permanently disabled' is not exactly permanent because if the machine operating software gets corrupted and has to be purged and reload this alarm will pop up again at 800 hours after the reload.

| I'm not sure exactly how it works but I think Haas has a relationship with a finance company to finance machines and the release code is for 200 hours or something like that. I think it is a sensible system but just a little frustrating when you get a software reload and have to get the code again.

| I would just call your local dealer. That is easy enough to do. I had to replace the processor board in my Haas. Shortly after that, I had the 144 alarm. I emailed Haas, they told me to call my local dealer. I called the dealer, gave them the machine's S/N, and they gave me the code. It was that easy! |

I hate to sound rude but that has nothing to do with the question. ![]() I want to know if you can walk up to a Haas machine and check on the control to see if the machine has been released from Haas. Pretty simple question, "if you can't" my next question would be why not? |
