Need Help!- How to DNC on HAAS

I have a few different software programs that are DNC capable and i would like to try my first attempt at DNC on a HAAS VF-1 mill. Ive never experimented with drip feeding before though i know how it works, i just dont know how to set this machine up to make it work. I will be useing a laptop with RS232 cable. So could someone please enlighten me on the process to get the machine to run in drip feed?

No, only RS-232.

IIRC, I believe you press MDI/DNC twice. Send the program from the PC. When you see it on the Haas screen, press cycles start. Your program can't end with M30; it must be an M02.

can you send and store gcode to the machine now?

if so, then as already stated puch the MDI button twice, A statement shows on the screen something like "waiting for DNC"

Tell you laptop to send the file just as you would to store a program on the machine, it will fill the buffer and wait for you to hit the green stat button.

I am running a VF0 and using ONECNC DNC for my communcation software.
running IIRC at 7-1-even at 19.2 over 100 feet of good cable.

I am in a repair mode this morning so can't fire the machine up to give you actual screen shots

I like to use MDI all the time, so I usually don't have "Enable DNC from MDI" turned on, as that takes an extra step.

Before you can use DNC from MDI you must go to Setting Graphics, go to setting #55. You have to turn it on to use DNC from MDI.
