our tool setter is on a vf-1 with a 4th axis i started working for my company a couple of months ago and when i got here they had 1 program written already but my programs when i have a endmill break i use the tool setter and it works for the program that was already there but it wont work for the programs that ive written i am using the same tools for alot of my programs i am useing the safe block of (INCH) G17 G20 G40 G80 G90 G94 G99 (METRIC)G17 G21 G40 G80 G94 G99 IS MY SAFE BLOCK cancling out the tool length compensation couse everytime i break a edmill or any thing i have to touch off my tool and use the tool setter so it will work in that other program. if anybody can tell me anything im doing wrong or any ideas will be greatly apriciated |

The English language, for one. Yes, your safe block is cancelling cutter comp (G40), which is fine. Mine does too. You need to turn on cutter comp (G43 for length and G41 or 42 for diameter/radius) for each and every tool, each and every time you need the numbers in the tool offset page to be active. | THANK U MAN now since u said that i see that but it ddnt cross my mind that it was cancling it i havent ever used a automated tool setter before but in my programs do i need to turn cutter comp on in safe block or after each tool call up. |
