Haas TM-1 wont spin above 750RPM

Hey guys,

Someone help me figure out why my TM-1 won't spin above 750RPM in manual machining mode. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Check the gear mode, you could be engaging the low gear. 750rpm max seem to be is what manafacture suggested.

Do you have the safety switch override locked?
Setting 51...I think.

On a VF11 that I run the cable had fallen off, I believe it was the encoder cable. The funny part was the machine was only about three weeks old

This machine has the stupid button on a teather. Its all working fine but even with a transferred program and it running it will limit the rpm to 750. I will look up setting 51 and see what it says.

Geof will become famous soon enough

If it will not go above 750 in either MDI or when running a program it could be a problem with the vector drive.

The Haas drive switches from Wye to Delta (or the other way around) at something like 750 rpm and this is done by a relay; possibly this relay is sticking in the low speed.

One approach I would take is to open the door on the control cabinet and gently tap all the relays with a small plastic hammer; this could kick something loose if it is just sticking.

If you choose to try this remember there are lethal voltages inside there so don't go sticking fingers in the touch things.
