got the mill running little video

He is a little video of a test cut on my super minimill. 15k rpm 130 ipm .1" DOC, with a iscar 3 flute, in a shrink-in er-32 collet and a iscar shortin holder. Sorry for the bad video, but though some might like to see some pretty fast machining with a small tool.

Why isit hte air compressors always activate when the camera comes out...

Anyway nice cuts. I was going to criticise but then I read it was a 1/4" cutter and my mind changed You might be able to cut the time down a bit further if you righed the bulk out with a larger tool then brought in the 1/4" to finish the corners and such.

Yeah that compressor is annoying. I have a 10 hp rotary screw but have not hooked it up yet. It is half the size of the machine. I was pleasantly suprised as I did this just as a test as i just got this mill. The neighbors say that cant hear the compressor or the machine so that is a plus.. I will post up some more videos here in the next week or two.I have some titanium, and some aluminum parts i am going to be running. I think this machine should pull off the 100 ipm range in the titanium with a 3/8" 5 flute and 1" doc with a .03 radial step over. Should be fun.

Show some pictures of the parts when you're finished machining them. Not sure why everyone ends their videos like that.

I should have added a " " I was not trying to be a snot.

But when you sit there for several minutes watching the mill run you wonder what is being made, 99% of the time it remains a mystery.
