-yes I can turn on and off other parameters (stuff like large tool, conveyor, etc. so parameter writing does indeed work)
-yes it's an option we own.
-yes cycled machine on and off

I think you have to enter the activation code again. This should be written on the first page of the Machine Data print out in the manual. If you don't have the manual or if it is not there your will be able to get it from Haas if you give them the serial number.

When you do get it back on leave it on, it does not need to be turned off
