Thumbs up Engraving software question

We have a TM 1P in our shop that is mainly used for
drilling and tapping assemblies used in larger machines
that we build.
Can anyone reccomend a software program that will import
our corporate logo and convert it to g code so we can start
branding parts with an engraved ID?

Thanks for all the help

Chris

I was reserching the same thing and came up with this company.

Not sure how good it will work but sure looks great.

2L engraving software.

the Pro2 software is what you will need from what the company says..(newest software) Pro3 is for 4th axis..

Let us know how it works if you get it..

IIRC, MillWrite will import and engrave a DXF file.

Engraving Software

Chris,

I do alot of engraving.

Will you be drag engraving...or milling the path?

Drag engraving works good on a surface that is uneven, like stock you will not be face milling and is left raw.

Milling or rotary engraving works great on surfaces that you face mill or flatten and then engrave while in the same setup.

I use several programs...and all do an admirable job...but for absolute ease of use, quality for the price...check out Vectric's Cut 2D. They have a free trial that you can download and try....comes with a Haas post processor...and is super easy to use...

If its a one time thing...send me a PM...I can help ya out.

Hi,

Some great advise as to other programs.

Do these programs generate the gcode?

I need software that makes Gcode so I can feed it into my Dos controled cnc. G code has to be in a regular text or notebook form.

Yes...they do. On my various CNC's...I work in either .nc or .tap files. Both are text and editable in notepad (when program is small enough...the 3D files get big!)

If you need them with .txt for dos based...just change the .*** and you are good to go.

The trial version will output code for thier sample files they give so you can try before you buy....excellent service also from Vectric.
