Wink Mastercam 4 axis questions!

Hello guys! First time here.

I'm a FeatureCam user and I can easily use/navigate all of its features including AFR, 4 and 5 axis, but, when it comes to Mastercam, well, it's a totally different ball game to me -I just started using Mastercam though- and I have no problems navigating and programming the typical lathe and mill toolpaths for 2 and 3 axis, but, I get stuck when it comes to 4 axis toolpaths and geometry, therefore, I hope some one here is nice enough to give some tips and basics about how to go with the geometry and toolpaths.

I go to the help menu, but, I'm the type of guy that in order for me to learn is: to get VERY SPECIFIC instructions, graphics (like featureCam) or videos for that matter.

Thanks in advance to every single one of you who can help!

you should go at http://www.emastercam.com/cgi-bin/ul...cgi?category=1

It's a dedicated Mastercam forum, lot's of info there (if you're a licenced Mastercam user...)

Freedy and CNCRim,

Do you guys know specifically where on the emastercam site the tutorials are? I went and did a search after seeing your posts in this thread and could not find them.

That's what I've been doing, trial and error, but, when things get "too jumbled-up" I prefer to seek help beyond the help menus.

Thank you guys! I appreciate the tips!

If you go in the folder where Mastercam is installed, there's a documentation folder, you should have a refguide. That should help for beginning. I was referring to emastercam if you have questions, ask them in this forum.

Your dealer should be able to orient you toward tutorials too.

I'm using version X3.

I found all the information I needed, thanks to you guys, I found the tutorials that MasterCam came with and also found some files that I can download from emastercam.com those files have the geometry and toolpaths for 4 axis.

Once again, thank you guys!!
