It must be CRS but I'm really not that old... it sure helps to press select program and not mess around with the function keys. I could laugh about it now but last night was a different story.
I've been trying to load a program from the USB to memory on a SL-10... for some reason it won't load. It was fine a few weeks ago but now the copy doesn't show on the memory page. The program is made with Onecnc which was loaded on a new computer so I really think the operator is a big part of this problem... any thoughts.
Thanks.

Don't feel bad. This has changed with recent software updates. On my 2004 and 2007 Haas machines, I can 'Write/Enter' to select a program. On the brand-new machines we just bought at work, we have to use 'Select Program' to choose the active program.

One thing I found out over the past few days is I need help... the pressure is starting to show. A one man operation can't keep up and I started to look for help in the Cleveland area, it would be nice to find someone who could program and run a mill and lathe 10-20 hours a week. I have some prototypes that need to be done in a month along with the normal product.
I have one control with the newest software and one with a version that is 2 years old. I also have found the older version much easier to use when it comes to accessing, transferring, and loading programs. For some reason the new software takes 5 or more seconds to recognize the presence of a new thumb drive. However, I do like the new visuals but it's hard to really compare because one is a mill and the other a lathe.

Is Onecnc good and inexpensive programming software? I want something to put on my personal PC so that I can begin a good basic program for several different tasks for both Haas mills and lathes.
After a weekend of working with the SL-10 and Onecnc everything fell into place. One cnc needed the diameter checked at the NC post settings and G02 G03 circular set to Absolute I J & R then it was just a matter of drawing it out. I did run about 10 different prototypes over the weekend, the main focus was on design and cycle times.
For me Onecnc does everything needed plus the program can be posted right to a USB drive, this drive is placed into the machine then you "Select program" Onecnc is on sale a couple times a year so call and find out.
