Haas live tooling keeps faulting out

Trying to drill a 3/4 drill bolt hole pattern machine wont do it i have had to slow it down to .4 ipm and iam using g83 peck and carbide drill . This lathe just cant handle it , i guess vl 40 anyone else have this problem suggestions ?

Do you have the live tooling high torque option on your machine?

Seems something is wrong.

I don't have the high torque option, but have tapped 1" deep m16 tap through 4340 with no problem.

Is it alarming because the spindle isnt locked? I have had problems with big drills if the the spindle brake is not on. Spindle orientation works fine for smaller stuff, but the gear motor is moved in place with an air cylinder, and with enough load will compess the air and slip. Use the brake.
