I'm thinking of getting one for second OP work on my SL-10BB. My only concern is that the drawtube has to much throw, since most of the work will be using Royal expanding ID collets. Anyone have any experience using these in their Haas?

| We use 5C collets all the time. When we use the expanding collets this is how I install them Close chuck (draw tube back) screw collet all the way in until it stops Open chuck (draw tube forward) then screw the collet in one additional turn That is where I leave the collet We have an SL10 and the draw tube does not always stay where it is( clamped or unclamped) when you turn on the machine. So when ever I use an expanding collet I make a ring to put on the outside of the collet, for turning off the machine. I also insert a pin into a standard 5C collet when I turn off the machine. Hope this helps Erich |
