TL-2 questions

I will be purchasing the TL-2 in the very near future. Here are some concerns. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. I am interested in the optional 4 station tool turret. A concern is if more than 4 tools are needed, is this easily removed & disabled in the control. Also, one the optional 3500 rpm motor, does anyone know if the low end torque would increase or diminish with this option or stay the same as the standard motor. Thanks in advance.

Removing and replacing tool turret?

Most emphatically not easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The olde style was easy to switch; the new servo driven one is half a day job.

I have made gang tool holders for various setups on the TL2; many times I use six tools and I think I might have managed a setup using seven once. I will see if I can find some pictures I posted.

The optional 3500 rpm motor?

You should search carefully on the Haas website, contact your dealer or contact Haas for more info. My memory tells me the 3500 rpm option is not a different motor it is a different spindle, or maybe different bearings on the spindle for the higher speed, but the motor is the same. If this is correct the low speed torque will be the same, I think, because the motor speed is controlled by a Parameter (or two).

All these threads have pictures I have posted showing tool holders and setups to get more tools on a turret by using gang tooling.

I cannot answer this question but you could try posting it in this forum:

The language in Argentina is Spanish, I think?
