| Hello friends, We recently changed (one year back) a new ball screw assy in Haas SL10 CNC lathe.Eventhough all of our periodic maintenence and lubrication system found ok, now the ball screw found damaged. What will be the causes for frequent damage? and how can we eliminate in future?. |

Thanks for your posting While production in progress of a small aluminum component(0.75mm pitch threading),suddenly abnormal sound in Z axis movent observed. Machine stopped and end bearing conditions verified found ok.Then ball screw with nut sent for analysis to an expert. They observed that one lock nut ball diverter out of three (inside of locknut) found damaged. There was scorring marks found on the steel balls, but no burrs or other foriegn material observed inside the lock nut. Could this be the manufacturing defect of the Ball screw assy? |
