A question for the experienced users of lathes with IPS (TL owners, mainly): I want to use the operator coordinates as a DRO. I can't figure out how to get to the coordinates page like my VF-2. Pressing the Hand Jog button changes immediately to the IPS screens. I want to reset the Operator coordinates and be able to hand jog to a position. Or at least be able to reset the values and use the Operator coordinates in the Current Commands page. Is there a way besides shutting off the IPS in the parameters?

| When I power up my TL and do the Auto Restart it shows a page with a row of tabs, and the leftmost is Manual. Press Write, Handl Jog and Position and you should see the screen you are looking for. I also get there by pushing Offsets, then Handl Jog and Position.

| In the IPS, page up until you see operator coordinates. If you want to reset the Z like at touching of the part face, get your tool to the face of the stock manualy then press Z, press origin and now the operator coordinate should come to 0.0000 in the Z. If you want to put let say 1" at this location, type Z1. then origin. If you do this right, the Z should come to 1.0000 in the operator coords. I use it often with some quick manualy jobs. The same pattern with the X. Also, it is all explain in the owner's manual. |

I'm sorry to have to say this....but why is it that so many good Haas answers are coming out of Canada??? ![]() Maybe global warming is numbing us to reading the manuals.....or too much time spent surfing in Oxnard (or better yet, at the Jim Hall kart racing school...gawd, that was fun!!) --I gotta be nice to Geof, just in case I end up with that TL-2 we've been looking into--- |
