TL2... Something to be aware of....

I'm making a lot of progress with our new TL2 but I did notice one thing that I do not like about how the IPS generated its code.

I noticed that the first movement was a G00 in the X+ axis. I can see a crash into the tailstock if the the cross slide was in the home position when the program cycle was started. The second line was the G00 in the -Z axis which I changed to be the first move.

Is there a way to change a parameter within the control that would change this sequence automatically when I use the IPS to generate my code?
I know Haas recommends doing moves alphabetically but it just doesn't make sense in this case.

What do you do to setup your work offset? I'm asking this because normally, before starting any cycle, you should have your work offset set and to do this you should setup your work with a tool nose so your tool turret would be out of the tailstock.

A way to customized what IPS gives you is to start the cycle you want with everything set in it, reset it a second after and go to the MDI to customized what the IPS gaves you and give this MDI a start. I do it often since the IPS isn't perfect.

I am realizing that the IPS isn't perfect, so I find myself reviewing the codes before I run the program, even if it works on the settings graph.

I touch off all my tools, then I write my program using the IPS. I'll record the movements in the order I feel is best to turn the part.

This is just something I noticed and wasn't too crazy about for the particular program I wrote.
