| Ok i have several large bushings made of 52100, I need to single point broach 6 longitudinal grease grooves in each one. My question is I don't want to hand crank them in on a manual lathe, can I make my SL30 do it? I know how to make the spindle index but I can seem to figure out how to get the z to feed with a stopped spindle!! Any one ever tried to do this? Sure would be a bunch easier on the old arm! These grooves are 3/16 wide x .090 deep thats serious arm pump now!! Hook me up guys !!! ![]() ![]() XYZ |

| Include this code in a program.. S500 G98 G01 Z-1.0 F10.0 I tried this on an SL and it worked. It insisted on having an S value, even though the spindle wasn't turning. I don't know why.
