| I'd help you but I'm kinda' far away. Have you watched the sales video on the Haas website? It's pretty helpful for getting an idea how to use the machine. I've saved it on my hard drive and watched it a bunch of times. The control has some newer features but the basics are there. http://www.haascnc.com/news/new_file...om%20Lathe.wmv Is this your first Haas? First CNC? If you're new to this stuff, the absolutely easiest thing you could do is to sign up for one of the free classes at the factory in Oxnard. It'll cost you three days of your time but it's well worth it. Plus: you'll get a tour of the factory, three lunches, a t-shirt, manuals, etc, etc. They do a first rate job. The classes fill up fast so sign up ASAP if you choose to go this route.

| Well, the HFO should offer training. I don't know if that's free or if you pay for it. I know that on-site training is available but you pay for that. Do you have any specific questions? I am totally new to CNC. Between what I already knew about the Haas control (from my VF-2), the manuals, the sales video and a few questions asked here, I managed to get myself going just fine.

| No, not anywhere in a Haas machine that I know of. You're stuck learning G-code. You can do basic operations in the intuitive screens. You can record those operations as you do them to build a program (face the part, turn the part, cut a shoulder, thread it, drill it, tap it). If the machine is the latest control (with the 15" LCD display) you have an option in there called 'profile'. You're supposed to be able to define a profile, store it, then retrieve it any time you want. In the end, I still don't think you're going to get beyond G-code. Or setting offsets for that matter.
