HL-2 close chuck, delay, cycle start

Is there a way to use the foot pedal (close chuck), to close chuck, delay a predetermined time, then cycle start without hitting the green cycle start button? That way you're not turning to the awkward position behind you to hit the button on the control panel. FYI, its just facing and putting a small radius on without coolant, so the door is left open with the door switch overrided. Thanks for any answers in advance.

Dave

Geof will become famous soon enough

There could be but that may be a high risk procedure.

You have the door switch disabled already. To avoid the machine alarming when the chuck is opened mid-cycle, which is what you will be doing, you would need to change the Parameter (or Setting, I forget which) that allows you to open the chuck when a cycle is running, and the only way to get the machine to restart by itself without hitting the button is to have a G04 dwell.

So if you took too long opening or closing the chuck...if someone distracted you...the machine is going to fire up with you wrapped around the chuck.

I know if I caught one of my guys doing that I would 'fire up'.

If I worked for a Boss that told me to do that I would get a new job.
