| How the heck do you get feed overrides to go from the factory 200% max to the advertised 999%? I run 4 GT lathes and a VF-2. After an HFO guy came to install the new VF-2, it allowed feed override to go to 999%. I'm pretty familiar with parameters and settings, but can't find anything that looks related. There is an "Unused" setting in "Parameter 57" that is set to 1 on the VF-2 that was 0 before the guy came. If I try to change it on the lathes, it requires a code. Is this the setting I'm looking for? |

| Do you have a "Handle Control Feed Rate " soft Key?? If you do, then you push that key to activate the function. Then use the jog handle to Increase / Decrease the feed rate.. Same for spindle speed override.. If you don't have that soft key, you will not be able to do this..

| First, sorry for starting 2 threads on the same thing. This is my first time posting here and I thought my thread didn't get posted the first time and re-did it. I will get rid of the other one. Ok, I have the handle control feedrate, but whether I use it or the +/-10% buttons, the most it will let me do is 200% All our machines are 2006 and 2007 models, but I don't think it matters for this. 2 GT-20s (2006), 2 GT-10s (2007) and a VF-2 (2007). |

| Where did you see 999% advertised? It seems like that would be a useful feature. I can see pre-running a complex contouring path and wanting to speed up the feedrates through known areas or to recut a spring-pass run over the same part again.

| See the picture. Push the circled button then turn the Jog Handle. EDIT: But not on TL or TM, 200% is the limit on these machines.

| Hmmm...it's been awhile since I've done that on the VF-2. Maybe it is 999% and I'm confusing it with the TL-1. I'm making my first ball-contoured parts in the VF-2 this week. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

| Our VF-2 does go to 999% now, but it would only go to 200% before the haas technician messed with something. It would be more useful on the lathes since all we do is ceramic, feedrates are usually very slow.. like .00005 in/rev at 200 rpm on ZTA (zirconia toughened alumina) for roughing! Sometimes by the time the cycle is done, a diamond grinding wheel has worn down several tenths. And a couple tenths is usually the tolerance i'm dealing with, so I have to change the offset and let it run through the whole thing again. Very tedious. In response to wms:

| I went and checked on a few machines. Mills have the 999% override, that is VF and MiniMills. Lathes do not, they peak out at 200%.

| Be VERY careful when using that feed rate. I accidentally left mine at 999% and went into a tool probing cycle on my VF3. Needles to say… I found out that the little brake away post works on the tool setter. And luckily… the machine hit the “Z” brakes before the tool hit the table. (I’m an idiot) |
