    TL-1 SSV (spindle speed variation)

Any body know how to activate SSV on there TL-1? I have entered values for setting numbers 165 and 166 (200 and 20 respectively) then MDI'd a M38 and turned spindle on but only get a non varying RPM. Will it work on canned cycles?, MDI mode?, only in programs?

I know it works in a program and in the G71/72/70 cycles. I will have to check about MDI.

Works on mine. Turn spindle on first then M38.

Ahhh... Turn spindle on first then M38. It works.....how cool. FWIW you can run a "Automatic mode" canned cycle after turning on SSV. However you must turn it back on after each canned cycle is run.... but you guys new that already.

    Thanks to all who replied,
    Don

I have not used SSV very much mostly because the spindle drive hovers around the 100% mark with the constant speed change. Maybe I am too conservative but I don't like running things near 100%. But as Wiseco says it does work well for long booring bars.
