How do you remove these, do you have to take the door off to remove the inner panel?

Depends how big you are.
I climbed inside a HL1 and closed the door to remove the frame retaining the window but I doubt that I would fit in the SL10.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
If you get a big enough off balanced part in the spindle to release at the right moment, the window will be removed automatically. Maybe Haas needs to provide a canned cycle for this.

Funny you mention that, I have an Okuma lathe where that happened. It was like that when we bought it....
I had a little gang tool lathe about 12 years ago. Ran mostly 5C collet jobs, but it did have a little 6" chuck too.
I got this job to machine two big 5 or 6 inch round brass balls for the top of hand rails on a Missouri river gambling boat. Made from just round bar stock so lots of material to remove.
All went well on the first, but on the second one came loose during a cut! Took the back window right out of the machine.
I was lucky enough to save the window and the part, but sure was loud!
Good memories
