Rigid tapping with sl-20 and mastercam X

In mastercam x when u do a rigid tap with a drill tool path, and select tap, the only option is g32 tap, which wont work.(for me at leist)? From what i understand you need an g84 canned cycle to properly do this, just like an milling machine. Does anyone have a solution

G32 tapping should work just fine.

Here's a piece of a program that we run on our SL-20. It should work for you as well. Give it a try. If it works, then have a look at your code and see what the differences are.

    Cheers,
    Fred

Hey thanks that worked like a champ. I have been cnc milling for 4 years now but our lathe is new to me. what i did wrong was the feed for the tap. I programed it like our milliing center. the feed for say a 6x1.0 tap would be 15.57--, not the .0397-- that the lathe uses. Something new to learn!! THANKS
