I'm sorry my friend. That is the way it is now. All of the new machines are that way from Haas. Our SL-10 was almost that way. We had an I/O board changed and the factory wanted the tech to upgrade the software in ours. It made it so the door override wouldn't work. There was also some kind of issue with the barfeed after upgrade so they put it back to the old revision. Now ours works again.
I know your pain. Occasionally, we use our SL-10 for second operations. Cycle times are short, in the neighborhood of 7 to 10 seconds. And the door is a pain.
Figure out a way to fool the door switch into thinking the door is closed and you'll have it licked. I know how, but I am not taking responsibility for getting anyone hurt. In the age of lawsuits, I'll take responsibility for my actions, and mine alone. Sorry.
In the mean time, I hope I have answered your question.
