    Leveling GT-10

I would like to check the leveling on my GT-10. I planned on checking the Z by putting a ground bar in a collet unless there is a better way. The X I'm not so sure about. There is a machined surface that the turret bolts to. I would think this is parallel to the X ways and would be a good spot to check for level in the X axis?

I was away and didn't see this thread until now. We use the machined surface you mention on our GT20s and I am confident it is adequate. These machines are so small setting them perfectly level is not really necessary. Just make sure all the levelling screws are carrying the same load.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

    Geof,

I used the machined surface and she was close enough for government work. Thanks for the help.
