    Acme thread blunt start

Looking for help in writing a program for blunt starting a 2-1/2 6 stub acme external thread. I have a Haas TL2 and think that doing this might include changing a setting. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

All you have to do is copy the threading cycle, change the Z length, slow your RPMs down, and make sure M24 is active. I like to use a groove/turn tool that is at least as wide as the base of the thread. You may have to change the z start position a little to make sure the groove tool splits the thread. Do a test part. The biggest problem I see with the TL-2 is that the TL-2 does not rapid fast enough. That is the reason why I will slow down to 150 Rpms or less to do a thread clip. If you have problems, post the code and I will fix it for you.
