Default Minimill SHUTTLE IN FAULT - RECOVER not doing as usual

    Hi Haas experts,

Minimill 2005. SHUTTLE in FAULT because of chips in the carousel area.
Usually I clean and proceed RECOVER answering the question "is there a tool in spindle..." etc.
Only this time RECOVER says "Z axis is not in a safe position. JOG KEY Z PLUS".
I do it but nothing happens. There is a message "TOOL CLAMP" when I JOG KEY Z PLUS.
The spindle is empty, whether I put a tool in or not is the same. It seems to be ready to take a tool, it is up in Z.
The shuttle/carousel area is clean, in the right position to accept or deliver a tool, so a place holder is just under the spindle.

There is no way to JOG any axis because there is no ZERO position in X,Y,Z. Neither the POWER SETUP runs to ZEROING because it says "SHUTTLE IN FAULT.

I tried to shut ON / OFF many times. No way to get out of that loop.

Is there a way to ZERO Z axis without the POWER SETUP ?
Is it possible to push the shuttle back to its home position by hand?
Or any idea to get out of that?

    Thanks for any help.
    KR

Before jogging the Z-Axis in recovery, the machine wants the drawbar to be unclamped. Then you can jog Z-Axis using the commands in recovery; it moves very slow though. When pressing unclamp in recovery, the drawbar will unclamp and stay open until you press the button again.

If the spindle is empty, try the following steps instead of using recovery.
Press the ZERO or ZERO RTN button just above LIST PGM button
then press SINGLE AXIS which is to the right of the ZERO button.

Usually this results in the shuttle returning to its home position.
If that does not work, you can manually push the shuttle to the home position.
When looking from the top of the shuttle casting, you should see a steel arm that drives the shuttle forward and reverse; it is the same bar that activates the switches. Push that bar down a little, then you should be able to push the whole shuttle assembly back to its home position. You may need to help the bar reach its horizontal position to activate the shuttle out switch.

    Good luck!

    Thanks a lot Haastec!
Sounds a good piece of information. For the last method, pushing the shuttle back by hand, I guess it is safe to press Emergency before.
I will try to give a feedback asap.
