You could do it either way. I have two machines wired direct with no disconnect on the wall, another plugs in, and two others are wired in with disconnects on the wall near the machine.
Hi guys,
New to the forum and just bought a brand new Haas Mini Mill. Had a couple of questions that maybe someone would be kind enough to answer. Does the power cable wire directly into a 40amp breaker box? Or does it plug into a 40amp receptacle that is wired into your main panel? I am putting the Mill in my garage at home.
Thanks

Jim, Thanks for the reply. I have seen some with plugged cables and some wired. Its a mazing to me that Haas does not have a definitive way of wiring for power.
Right, either way.
I have mine wired into a plug because my plasma cutter shares the outlet and I can only run one at a time.

Thanks man
I think larger machines need their own sub-panel.
You probably need to be able to lock out tag out.

I was thinking of installing a sub panel anyway. Sick of unplugging stuff. I just ordered the machine Haas says 12 weeks to delivery. Would you happen to know if they are early or late on their delivery times?
They estimated my lead time at 4 to 5 weeks and it arrived exactly 5 weeks later.
Pretty accurate that time.

I wired my TM1P from the breaker box to a interupter switch at the machine so that if it needs to be locked out for any reason the sparky working on it won't have that certain glow! If you look in the instilation literature it will tell you all that information you need to know.
