haas pulstuds
what part of the stud is important? I noticed different manufacturers have the 45 degree angle at different heights on the top of the stud, making the OD width shorter on some than others.. the height is correct according to the chart on side of machine.
the neck goes into an angle then to a o.d the to an angle to the top.
Reason I ask is one of my studs had some pretty big gouges in it so I had some more bought from down town, when I put them on I noticed them being a longer 45 degree angle on the top haveing a shorter od surface.
so did I get a bunch of chinese garbage the 1st time or second time.
I will try to get pics up in the am.this city sucks for getting tools everything is either chinese crap or it has to be ordered.

My concern is the g width (on the picture you posted) in your experiance what should it be on the haas cat 40 studs.
the old ones were .200 on one lot found some with .180 width and the new ones are .130 wide. I found 3 that are 180 wide that have pretty deep groves in the the .200 wide ones look fine and I havent tried the .130 width ones.

I looked at the us shop tools one as thats where I used to get my tool holders from but those holders DONT run in my haas worth a crap so I returned everyone of them and only buy kenmetal for the haas.
what I am thinking though is I got some pull studs left over from Us shoptools and marhall tool, new ones also came from marshal there techniks

Been busy so couldnt update this.
I recieved some very usefull information from Ken and one other guy at Haas last week. I havent logged on till today and got a PM from a guy that makes pullstuds YES AMERICAN MADE .
he gave me ever more insite, not to mention ,maybe fix for my chatter problems when cutting alum with generic cutters.
The O.D. that I was talking about makes no difference what haas and others have figured. aside from the 45º angle the length from the thread flange to the very top of the stud does make a difference as well as the case hardening. and a few other things I hope Dick will Explain to us on as it was pretty interesting about his High Torque studs, when torquing them down.Hi
