Default RS232 Drip Feed time out? Maybe

sometimes when doing long programs 20 megs or better the cnc dnc via rs232 seems to timeout. It seems to happen with more complicated 3d (mold toolpaths). I think it is due to the 1 meg memory on the cnc VF3 being full and the handshaking between hyperterminal and it timing out? Does this seem possible and if so how can I increase the timeout so it does not happen, thanks

Are you using a USB to Serial converter? I've had similar issues with handshaking (or lack thereof) when using these. If you're using a laptop you may want to look into a PCMCIA-Serial converter. (SiiG, Quatech, etc.)
