I'm an idiot, bought wrong handed boring bar. Lemonade?

Hello all
Some days you hit it out of the park, other days you're a dolt. I ordered a right handed boring bar. Can I run the spindle backwards and still use it, or should I add it to my dusty monument of stupidity and try again?

Sure you can, as long as you can reverse the direction of the spindle. I'm new to cnc, but I've bored plenty in both direction with a Bridgeport.

What kind of machine and spindle do you have?

Haas ST20Y. I bought the machine, and tools to do a specific contract from a person getting out of the industry. He showed me specifically how to make the parts I was making, with the tools that came with the lathe. As with anything like this you start to branch out and try new things. About a thousand times a day I wish I had an old guy standing by me to ask questions about if I'm doin it right. Guess that's where all you come in 😊. Thanks

Without seeing your program, I would have to assume there's an M3 or M03 at the start of the boring tool. If you change that to M4 or M04 the spindle should run in the other direction.

Ah well I'm a double idiot. The handedness was correct all along. M03 will spin it.
