Default 2006 Haas TL1 cross slide to spindle centerline

I'm installing a Dorian rotary tool changer that I will need to make a spacer block for. I purchased the lathe new in 2006. I measured the centerline to cross slide top and came up with 4.320". The new specs show 5.5" so I assume Haas changed something along the way. Does anyone have the original specs on a 2006 TL1? I can't seem to find mine.

You say the current spec is 5.5" so probably even if you found an older spec it would also be to only one decimal; which is not precise enough. For installing a toolpost you need accuracy of something like +/-0.001" so you need to do the measurement to this the level of precision and work with that..

An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

I'm not looking for +/-.001, I'm wondering if the older TL1 were 4.5" instead of the 5.5" on the current ones. Sounds like they did something to the cross slide to gain another inch.

2004 Haas tl1 spindle cl =4.819 as of 10/13/11. Do you need any more work envelope dimentions? TL1 v2 was changed 2014 sept for a bigger spindle bore and production enclosure only. Higher spindle speed also.

    Thanks. That answers my question.
